  • Democracy Resulting In Against Sharia Lawmaking

Janab Javed Ghamidi sb derives democracy from the verse (امرهم شورى بينهم), and it is the only correct method of making a state or government. He is in favor of democracy not kingship neither khilafat. My friends say in democracy every person has a right of freedom of opinion and in all matters of state the opinion of the majority will be accepted. So for example, if someone supposes and bring a bill to the parliament containing a full ban of punishment for killing someone, and suppose the majority is in favor of this then it means the bill will be accepted in a democratic state which is against the Quran.

    Please someone explain it.

This also means that the majority of population supports such a law which is against Quran and Sunnah. In a democratic country, they’re allowed to do that, but this doesn’t make that law right. Muslims who consider that law against Islam have right to peaceful protest and they should focus more on educating the masses about Islamic values, because in such a situation, only preaching and dawah can change peoples minds.

Democracy doesn’t decide right and wrong, it is a way for smooth running and smooth transitioning of a system.

Please also refer to the videos below to understand the conditions under which rebellion can be done against a government on religious grounds
