Conditions Of Nikah
Assalam o alaikum.
Is it permissible in Islam for a boy to ask a girl about marriage in the presence of witnesses? Or only a girl’s mahram can do this?
My major concern is about male asking female three times about her consent on marrying him and female asking male three times for same. Instead of some Islamic scholar asking for consent of both male and female separately.

Umer, I didn’t mentioned, but parental consent of both sides is included.
