Allah’s Messenger, there is happiness for this child who is a bird from the birds of Paradise for it committed no sin nor has he reached the age when one can commit sin. He said: ‘A’isha, per adventure, it may be otherwise, because God created for Paradise those who are fit for it while they were yet in their father’s loins and created for Hell those who are to go to Hell. He created them for Hell while they were yet in their father’s loins.

    Sahih Muslim 2662c

This hadith rejects the concept of freewill. If it is so then it’s all pre-decided whether I’ll go to hell or heaven.

    Assalam-o-Alaikum!

It’s not rejecting the concept of free will.

The Prophet SAW is just replying to Hazrat Aaisha that as Allah made paradise and hell. So، in the same way he also made people who will enter in paradise and hell.

He is not saying that Allah has made the decision that this man go to hell and that man go to paradise not like that.

He is just explaining that there are people who will go to paradise and hell.

The above did not mean that Allah will make people to do good and bad deeds.

For understanding Hadith we must place it in overall understanding of Islam.

As we all know that the sole purpose of creation of this world is only the test of human beings.

Those who do good deeds in this world will go paradise and vice versa.

    Hope you will understand it.

It’s only my opinion on the basis of my knowledge.

Sir read it again it clearly states that it’s decided weather a person would go to hell or heaven in father’s loins! How would you describe that? Read the whole Hadith again and try to understand my point!

Moreover, how is it possible that a child, a person who hasnt reached shaoor to be held accountable for actions.

If it’s not possible then why did Prophet say that?

Q2)Moreover wanted to ask mods….Ghamidi sahab talked about ashaab kahaf, I mean the boy who was killed by the person whom some people think is “khidr”.
The way I see it is the boy still hasnt comitted sin, so why is it said that it was feaered he would go astray. Javed Sahab says hidayat gumrahee aik qanoon kai mutabiq hotee. Can someone tell me is the boy baligh or not. If not then how can we claim that Allah would have made him gumrah based on his deeds.
Ghamidi sahab I believe answered this in an “ilm o hikmat video” but I cant find that particular video.

However here, in the case of the narration the words are clearly about the fate of unborn kids. (Assuming the prophet did say something along the lines of what was reported) So we cant even claim then that the child deserved heaven or hell based on Amal, since he hasnt even reached Shaoor.

Hope mods can help us inshaAllah

    1. A’isha, the mother of the believers, reported that a child died and I said:

There is happiness for this child who is a bird from amongst the birds of Paradise. Thereupon Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said: Don’t you know that Allah created the Paradise and He created the Hell and He created the dwellers for this (Paradise) and the denizens for this (Hell)?

    2. A’isha, the mother of the believers, said that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) was called to lead the funeral prayer of a child of the Ansar. I said:

Allah’s Messenger, there is happiness for this child who is a bird from the birds of Paradise for it committed no sin nor has he reached the age when one can commit sin. He said: ‘A’isha, per adventure, it may be otherwise, because God created for Paradise those who are fit for it while they were yet in their father’s loins and created for Hell those who are to go to Hell. He created them for Hell while they were yet in their father’s loins.

these are two hadith i found translated 2662b and2662C , the wording in the translation is different, (ie. dont you know, and the other says per adventure, it may be other wise), also the second mentions predestination ie, in the fathers loins…)

my observation is that they look like the same but not arent, one looks as if its saying a baby can be destined the hell, even though i know this cant be based on other resources.

does anyone know of additional support or resources that explain the hadith?
