Most Basic Demand Of Religion?
I heard from a person who claims to be an inter-religious scholar, that basic objective of all religions (all divine scriptures) is to shift our command from our senses to mind.
This sounds appealing if we look this with nature of Quran. Like Allah is saying repeatedly that ‘people don’t think’ and ‘Have you seen someone who’s slave of his senses?’
Please guide about this.

Yes sir the objective is said to be ‘purification’.
So when it comes to moral purification, can we say that it’s all about to neglect our nafs and senses(like pride and arrogance) and going towards mind?

While Islam does indeed aim to rationally explain all of its arguments, it’s not correct to conclude that it’s fundamental requirement is to shift the focus from empirical evidence to intellectual evidence.
All of human knowledge essentially has three fundamental sources: empirical evidence, intellect (inference, inductive logic, deductive logic), and established facts of history. Quran uses all three of these sources to establish it’s case.
With that said, it’s correct to conclude that the Quran wants us to believe on the basis of reason and rationality rather than blindly following anything.

Sir maybe I failed to describe my question well.
My query was, whatever we do in our life, either it will steam from commands of our nafs(desires etc) or we’ll think rationally about it.
This is the difference between humans and other beasts.
Like animals always follow their nature about eating etc. But we can make decisions about what we want at any given time.
So can we say that religion wants us to take direct command always from our mind/conscience and not merely from our senses.
That’s how I phrased my question that ‘can we say that one of the basic objective of religion is to make us free and evolve beyond the boundary of sensory pleasures and work on our mind and always consider thinking critically before doing anything.’

Yes, we should base all of our decisions on reason and rationality rather than desires, whims, emotions, etc.
As you stated, reason and rationality are among the faculties that set us apart from other creatures. In that sense it’s correct to say that Islam, when understood from the correct perspective, forces us to use our faculties of reason and rationality in order to arrive at any conclusions.
With that said, one must be careful in the application of reason and rationality. When applied to hypothetical or plain false ideas it may yield absolutely wrong results which may even appear very logical and coherent on the surface.
