Difference Between Rasool And Nabi
If the basic difference between a rasool and Nabi is judgement for the deniers after revealing truth to them then the series of events mentioned in surah Araf about quom e Samood, quom e Hazrat loot (a. S), quom e Hazrat shoaib (a. S), that they faced the results(death) after denying. Then the rule applies that these prophets can also be called as rasool Allah, but we all know that prophets with books are four and they are the rasool. So I am confused, on what criterion exactly do we discriminate between a rasool and a Nabi.

The confusion is caused because certain scholars are of the opinion that rasools are those who were given scripture. Evidently, that’s not entirely correct. In order to understand Ghamidi sahab’s viewpoint regarding the difference between nabi and rasool, please watch:
