    Hi

Is sin and crime one and same thing?

Mr Ghamidi mentioned that there are 3 major crimes (jurm) in Islam whilst explaining the reality of pardah in islam.

    1. Shirk

    2. Murder ( there are punishment for this)

    3. Ikhlaqi bay rahrawi/ fahashi. ( again there are punishments for this).

The punishments for the 2nd and 3rd crime should be given in this world (I presume by the state). What is the punishment for shirk and whether this should be given in this world by the same authority which gives the punishment for 2nd and 3rd crime. If not then why? if yes than what punishment?

I think that you have mixed up a couple of things. Please watch the following video to understand the difference between sin and crime:

As it should be clear after watching the above video, punishment for shirk (a sin) lies with God only.

      Thank you!

But mr Ghamidi specifically said in one of the videos where he is answering the critique made on his interpretations that there are 3 big crimes in Islam and Shirk is on top. Now if shirk is a crime than it should be punished in the society as the other two great crimes I.e unlawful murder and pornography or anything which promotes it on the society. I’m afraid I can’t find the exact video at present but he did mention shirk as a crime.

Without you sharing the appropriate reference of the video you’re referring to along with the relevant time stamp I can’t comment on it. Everything has to be understood in context. My guess is that he might have been talking about crimes from the perspective of God.

Yes that’s the possibility I will go through the videos and see if I can find it again.

      Thanks for your help.
