Mass Death – Ijtemai Halakat
Is mass death a punishment from Allah in this world for a community.
I heard from a Religious scholar that in todays world whenever mass death happens, be it a because of a natural disaster or by genocide, only muslims are victims because they’re being punished by Allah.
Even Ghamidi sahab said that Jewish people are being punished by Almighty when they were persecuted in last century in certain parts of Europe.
An ayah is given as proof by some scholar to support this :
Say, “What is your opinion – if the punishment of Allah were to come upon you suddenly or openly (with forewarning), who would be destroyed except the oppressive people?” (6:47)
What is right conclusion about this matter ?

Punishment of Allah cannot come unless Itmam-e-Hujjat is done by a messenger of Allah (‘Rasul‘). The current natural disasters and calamities are a warning from Allah that serve as a reminder of death for the whole community and whole world at instances. The verse 6:47 is in the similar context of Itmam-e-Hujjat where it clearly mentions that only oppressive people will be destroyed in accordance with the same law. The statement that only Muslims are victims of such disasters and calamities is factually incorrect; recent Coronavirus is an example in this context.
As far as Bani-Israel are concerned, their punishment had to do with their special rank of ‘Shahdah‘ for which they were being punished for breaking their oath with Allah, this punishment is not generic in nature because there is no verse in Quran which depicts such punishment or similar punishment for Muslims in gereral.
