  • Is Hesitation An Excuse (uzar) For Salah?

    Assalamualaikum

Sometimes doing somethings like praying on airport or in open public, sometimes a person feels hesitation, is it natural or just a person is taking religion too easy or doesn’t care about religious duties very much?

And secondly if because of that hesitation a person prays on some bench or in plane on seat (however he could pray on floor on airport before coming in plane),so can these types of hesitations be excuses(uzar)be acceptable?

A person has to decide for himself as to what constitutes Usar for him (‘undue difficulty/’ghair mamuli mushaqqat‘), no generic ruling can be given in this regards. A a principle, a few things need to be kept in mind:

    – One has to make an honest judgement

    – Judgement should be made on usar faced by the person, which is a pre-requisite for relaxation (combining and/or Qasar) in Salah.

For some, hesitation can become a genuine usar and for others, it might not be.
