Fish Without Takbeer?
Posted by Abdullah AbdulRahman on March 1, 2022 at 11:14 amIs fish without Takbeer( or taken out from water as food on the name of God) halal?
If yes then how because animal must be purified of wildness and life must be taken on the authority of God,so how the second condition is fulfilled ,if its halal?

Scholar March 1, 2022 at 10:45 pmTo recite the name of God on slaughtering an animals is to counter the beast-like act of slaughtering of Muslim, not that it is necessary to recite before taking an animal’s life. In catching fish, beast-like act is not involved, so no need to recite God’s name on it.

Member May 12, 2022 at 7:24 amSalam,
Regarding saying God’s name while we take life (slaughter an animal), so we are doing so with permission from God and can’t take a life unless we say that it is with permission from God. How is it not the same with fish as over there we are also taking a life? Shouldn’t the same principal apply in case of fish?
Pardon for any lack of knowledge or mistakes in my opinion.

Member May 12, 2022 at 10:22 amYes I watched the video, the act of slaughtering or spillage of blood is not being taken in that sense but regardless death is occuring for the fish. My question remains that how can it be permissible if God’s name is not pronounced on it keeping in view the principle outlined in the Quran?

It reminds a person that he’s taking a life with the permission of God. No beastlike act of slaughtering is performed on fish, so to pronounce God’s name is not prescribed.
