Practical Necessity In Adopting One Specific Fiqh Or Maslak
Perhaps a silly question but need to ask, since even namaz timings are based on what one opts for. If a person does not know what fiqah or maslak like Hanafi Sha’afi etc one belongs to, then what shall he/she do when it comes to selection (ex prayer et Al)?
Is it necessary to belong to one?

It is not necessary rather not recommended to belong to any fiqh. However you have to decide on what grounds you adopt a scholarly opinion.

Common people under normal circumstances really need not do anything special. In case of salat they can pray at the mosque closest to their house or follow their timings. For other things they should follow their family, friends, or neighbors. It’s when a different opinion in something comes their way, they should listen to it with sincerity and adapt if they find it to be true.
