      What about a popular idea prevalent in our society ” A woman who does not marry does not deserve a Namaz-e-janaza when she dies” and many other such ideas. Is there any authentic hadith about the fact that it is okay not to marry?

      They sayings have no religious basis.

      There is no such saying that it is ok not to marry, neither is there saying that Nikah is Farz:

      Nikah is Sunnah of the Prophet (Sws) and not all Sunnahs are Farz.
