Zakat To Pay Immediate Family's Medical Expense
I live in Canada with my wife and kid. Immigration of my wife and kid is in progress and they are staying with me on visitor visa for now. I am resident and pay my taxes. My question is:
Recently my son was hospitalised. Canada has public health care but my son is not covered yet because his immigration petition is not approved for now. There are long processing times due to Covid. I received thousand of dollars in medical bills. Can I pay those medical bills with zakaat?
