  • Why Bukhari & Muslim Took Only Specific Parts Of Ahadith Regarding Women As Omen

There can be many reasons, one of them is the only that part reached to a Muhaddith through a chain which he could considered as of the superlative degree of Sahih. A hadith which does not qualify to be Sahih can be hassan hadith, or can be correct even lower degree if it could find other supportive reports. Imam Bkhari and Muslims did not intend to collect all reliable ahadith but only Sahih ahadith, and Sahih means, whose narrators are of par excellence, but the text of hadith is correct or not, is another science of hadith to decide.

So on that basis, can the Hadith only in Bukhari and Muslim about omen topic be acceptable? Because they had also that riwayah that Ahmad Bin Hanbal has accepted, which Bukhari o Muslim didn’t accept?

As I mentioned above, after verifying a Hadith as sahih, the next step is to judge the text if it is in accordance with Quran, other Ahadith and general principles of Deen.

On its face value, the text of the Hadith about omen is not acceptable. And they are not accepted.

Ok, for example: the riwayah of Ayesha RA in Musnad doesn’t exist. We have only in Bukhari and Muslim, so how would you not accept it when we are satisfied that it is Sahih and Prophet SAW did say it? (Although Prophet SAW did say another thing which Ayesha RA clarified, but we are ignoring that in this example)?

    Thanks

It is unacceptable for its content which runs against the established teachings and principle of Deen، not just because we have another version of hadith, if it were not there, still it was unacceptable. No creature of God is ominous.
