  • Injecting Medicine During Fasting.

Ghamidi sahab’s opinion on injecting medicines during fast was, it’s permissible and no problem with that because it’s not eating or drinking through mouth (although it’s entering our body) , whereas regarding transplantation of pigs heart, he mentions it’s haraam because it’s placing something in the body and it’s like eating and drinking.

So how can injecting medicine into body be permissible during fasting and won’t be considered as eating and drinking, but transplantation of pigs heart be considered as eating and drinking.

    Please clarify….

    Thank you.

Injecting any medicine for some sickness doesn’t equate with eating and drinking, but if some injection is used as an energy booster/energy source, then it falls in the same eating and drinking category and is prohibited as per Ghamidi Sahab as well (as can be listened to in the video below). Also, Fasting is a worship ritual and unless something completely nullifies the nature and reality of that ritual, it will not be considered prohibited.

As far as Pig Heart Transplant is concerned, since eating something eventually results in formation of bodily organs, new cells and new proteins etc. therefore, end result of both the activities is the same, which is the ‘illat‘ due to which both are prohibited according to Ghamidi Sahab.
