    Asalaam o alaikum Mohtram

I reside in US and I’ve 2 children. Both boys. My elder son has completely neglected us. He never calls, or help or participate in any of our happiness n sadness. My wife n myself both are in seventy two n over. I have one house which will be my virasat. Will I be violating Islam if I give this to my other son exclusively. How if I give this to my other son in my lifetime.

It hurts me to ask this but this elder boy has really hurt me a lot.

    Thank you

Man is the owner of his property. He can give his wealth to anyone he deems suitable as long as his conscience is satisfied. He can do this during his lifetime as a gift, or through his bequest which shall be distributed after his death.

The law of inheritance comes into effect after the distribution of one’s bequest.

Quran says that the shares in inheritance are prescribed according to the benefit the heirs generally provide. If an heir proves to be not beneficial or even harmful (as for example, in the case of a murderer), he or she can be deprived of the inheritance.
