    السلام عليكم

I heard from the Dr. Zeeshan Usmani Sahab video that Ghamidi Sahab wants to address questions raised by atheists after the 23 Questions series ان شاء الله. Please include this in the list of questions too: that arguing for the existence of God from events with unknown scientific causes is a philosophical fallacy.

For a better definition: “God of the gaps” is a theological perspective in which gaps in scientific knowledge are taken to be evidence or proof of God’s existence.

So, for example, if one argues that, according to the big bang theory, the universe began as a single point which then expanded into what we observe today. That that point could only have been there had there been a cause that can create out of nothing and thus, the existence of God is proven. The objection raised would be that one is only usinf this argument because of a lack of scientific knowledge as to what actually happened. One day, like the gap on the cause of rain and thunderstorms, this gap in scientific knowledge will be filled and God would either find another gap or be removed from the equation entirely. So, this proof of God is fallacious.

If someone else has a good insight into this argument against the existence of God, its merits and demerits, please feel free to share it. Also, I remember reading that Faisal Haroon Bhai has studied philosophy under Ghamidi Sahab. So, Faisal Bhai, your input would be highly appreciated. But please do include this question on the list of questions which Ghamidi Sahab will ان شاء الله address on the subject of atheism.

Sure it will be added to the list, but Ghamidi sahab has already addressed this question. Please watch from 1:04 to 5:29:

      السلام علیکم

Ok, thank you! I also wanted to know whether then we can argue the existence of God from scratch from such events. That is, if we say that God is the cause of an event, we are already presuming Divine Existence. So, we cannot use an event to prove the existence of God, right? That would be a circular argument.

No we don’t argue for the existence of God from any events. The existence of God is self-evident for anyone who’s willing to reflect upon their own self and the universe around them.

In science we look at matter, determine how it functions under different conditions, and then draw ‘necessary’ logical inferences based upon our observations.

At a very high level, when we look at this universe as a whole, all the natural laws and how they work with such mathematical precision, the undeniable harmony among all the systems within this universe in order to support life, all the aesthetics of this universe, and our own faculty to distinguish right from wrong, our observations leads to a ‘necessary’ logical inference that this universe is created by an extraordinarily intelligent and resourceful agent – God.

These were some of the questions which came to my mind for the atheist series:

Firstly:What are the evidences or arguments for a god and why rationally only one God?

    1. Theory of evolution explains all that (living beings) we see around us with these specific features with everyone, instead of involving God in that.

    2. And we can prove that the universe came from nothing, so there is no need for God (book of Lawrence Krauss).

    3. And if you say that God created these, then a bigger question arises that who created that God.

    4. And which God would we believe like there are many much in hinduism, zoroastrianism, Islam etc.

    5. The history has been darkened with the people who rose up saying that we are people of God or gods. E.g what church did with Galileo, or violence on the name of God like terrorism.

    6. Why do we need God, like with or without God we are moral. And those who say we believe in God are less moral than those who don’t believe in any e.g Islamic world in compare of europe.

    7. The countries which are theists are in a bad economic situation compared to atheist countries.

    8. Rationale for the life after death.

    9. Why is God in almost in every religion seems to be some type of furious and sadist like He feels good harming others.

    10. What has God to do with us.

    11. In such an extremely extremely vast universe (maybe universes), from among such many planets, only on one planet from among such many species only one specie does seem to have “delusion” of God.

    12. Humans have the idea of God because they can fantasize. They can write fiction and God is one among them.

    13. Every religion thinks that only they are gonna get freed from hell. If you only say Shahadat or believe in trinity, then anything you are gonna do, hell is not gonna touch you. On the other hand if one (whom you think is a disbeliever according to your specific religion), if he tries his best to find the truth and didn’t get (your specific religion) truth then he is gonna end in hellfire while you just say Shahadat and don’t strive for the truth as the above person then you are gonna end in paradise anyway.

    14. Religion is against basic human rights like lgbtq etc.

    15. Religion unlike science don’t accept any chance for mistake, like they don’t accept that there can be any chance for mistake in the religion i believe in. And muslims today don’t even accept any chance for mistake in the understanding of their big scholars (aslaaf).

    16. People today share their stories that their parents were abusive to them in their childhoods in making them believe in their specific religion or act of that religion.

    17. Apostasy

    18. Astaghfirullah, Muhammad SAW was a womanizer, all these traditions in the books of history like Tabari and even in Hadith books like Ayesha RA became afraid from Jawariyah RA because of her beauty and Muhammad SAW did marry with her.

    19. Questions raised by orientalists on Islam being the religion from God.

    20. Gender instinct is natural to human. Islam and other religions stop us from this instinct and make it shameful outside the circle of marriage.

    21. Religions are against human freedom upon which the western society is built.

    22. Why acting upon religion is so difficult, if e.g Isalm is the religion of nature then why does it feel difficult to act upon that and it needs an external force to implement Islam on us. And in history also cannibalism was a practice of some religion also.

    23. Religion contradicts with science.

    24. When people of one religion can’t agree on one thing then why should we believe in that religion like sects in religion.

    25. Religious stories are inaccurate like Naoh AS, ‘Aad and Samud etc.

    26. These things which religion tells us that we can explain scientifically e.g psychological explaination of experiences of Sufis like wajad etc.

    27. Creationism theory is inaccurate.

    28. Religion is against having fun in life (even little).

    29. Religion is against our aesthetic sense like no music, pictures etc.

    30. Against our rational sense like if it’s that true then why does it fear if someone leaves it (apostasy).

    31. Against our moral sense like death of innocents in 9/11.
