Why do Muslims celebrate Eid? What is the purpose behind it? As Muslims we feel sad when Ramadan is finished. We know Ramadan to be blessed month then why we celebrate once it is finished? Isn’t contradictory?

Islam teaches balance. After a month of restrictions, human nature wants relief and celebration otherwise human beings would tilt to asceticism. God appointed this day to bring back our nature to its normal course with prescription of Eid prayers and remembrance of God so that we may not forget God in our merrymaking.
