The more appropriate way to put it is that God doesn’t interfere in the free will of people. We can freely choose between good and evil.
As far as the outcomes of our deeds are concerned they’re sometimes determined by our own good or bad decisions, at other times free will exercised by others, and yet at others times by the will of God. When determined by the will of God, sometimes they could be in the form of a trials and at other times even as a rewards. What’s required of us is to do our absolute best, and leave the outcome of our efforts to God. We know with certainty that nothing can take place without the knowledge of God.
