Quran 18:46 – Why Only Sons Are Described As Adorment Of Worldy Life?
اَلْمَالُ وَ الْبَنُوْنَ زِیْنَةُ الْحَیٰوةِ الدُّنْیَاۚ-وَ الْبٰقِیٰتُ الصّٰلِحٰتُ خَیْرٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَّ خَیْرٌ اَمَلًا
Why in this ayah particularly sons are mentioned as adormnet but not the daughters? what is the context of this ayah? -

In tribal life, besides wealth, sons had extra-ordinary importance. The group that is mentioned earlier (Quran 18:34) is primarily constituted of boys and precisely for this reason people would desire children in abundance.
