Does the income tax amount will be equivalent to monthly amount of zakat for salaried person.?

For the govt employees the monthly income tax rates are different according to their basic salary…

Does the zakat amount will be considered paid as the govt is fixed the rate of income tax.

Zakat for a salaried person should be calculated at 10% of the gross income. Taxes paid to the government can be deducted from the zakat obligation.

You may enter appropriate numbers in our Zakat Calculator after reading the description for each box. When you reach the end, it will generate a statement showing you exactly what you owe after any applicable deductions, and what percentage was applied to each category. It’s also a great way to learn the sharia of zakat.

      Thanks for your response,

What if, if someone monthly salary is equal to their expenses, he have no other source of income… If he fix some amount monthly for future investments.. should he pay 10% at the start of salary…

Zakat is an obligation regardless of what one’s expenses are. If one’s earnings are above nisab then their earnings are subjected to zakat.
