  • How Grateful Do We Need To Be To God?

In what matters should we give thanks? For example, we should be thankful for all the facilities that are available to us, or it is right to think that God did not provide the same facilities to the people before us, so it seems that the God who We believe is not the right one. And then even if I want to be thankful, I consider myself a hypocrite because why didn’t God deal with the people of the past as He is dealing with us. Because our Creator is the one who is creating such a skilled servants. I couldn’t understand what should I do in such a case.

This world is not created on the principle of justice but for test. For the sake of test we are given certain abilities and facilities to see how we behave.

We should tankful to God for the things he gave us. The things he did not give us or did not give to others is because this is the matter of test for which we sent to this world after we opted for it.

Everyone will be dealt with in the hereafter according to the abilities and facilities every one was given and every one will be rewarded with justice and magnanimity of God.

Those who were given less, will have less to be answerable for.

@Irfan76 Sorry to ask again, but I was saying that you are absolutely right that this world is on the principle of examination, not of justice, absolutely correct, but even in this age the examination is still going on. So was it not possible to take the first test in such an environment?

The nature of test of morality and patience and gratefulness does not change with changes in things and facilities. Having a good horse to ride is equal to have a good care to drive and so on.

@Irfan76 You are right, but the problem is that it is easier for me to ride a horse or be thankful for it, because that has been the custom for a long time. The more things grow, the more gratitude you have to grow, but the mind says that if you are giving thanks in an age when you are also doing your business easily. Praise be to Allaah. The income is good. Everything is there and the examination is going on. So these things could have been done earlier. People would not have been martyred in wars and would not have taken troubles and would have easily used technology, would have benefited from science as this process is happening now and the test is also going on, so it is very difficult to be thankful.

You are ignoring the other part of the test, that is of patience. People have two types of tests. patience and gratefulness. not only in different ages, but within a same age in the same place two different people can have two different kind of test. if you have nothing to be grateful, you need to be patient while enduring the sufferings. it is God’s choice, knowledge and un-encompass-able wisdom to give different kinds of tests to different people.

Sure you, I will do my best to pass this test of patience, and I am doing it

Dr. Sahib was further saying that the level of gratitude has not changed and neither has the patience but the question arises here that if there are more facilities in today’s world and we have been asked to give thanks then it is possible. May our gratitude increase even more than the previous ones. In such a situation, Allah Almighty Himself has not decided to increase our status? So it also causes sympathy with the ancestors

There is a opinion that our ancestors were happier than us. Facilities are not the source of pleasure, but of ease.
