In some countries, there is an event at the last of school and college years (prom) and in that one boy may choose a girl and they would dance together. Should a Muslim avoid that?

It is the question of morality which is the concern of Islam. if one find it not immoral according to one’s conscience and social norms, one may opt to do that.
