    We want to name our daughter “Ella”, but the name is mainly popular in the Christian religion, and its main origin is Greek. Is it permissible to give “Ella” name to a child in Islam? JazakAllah Khair

    Any name which may sound good or have good meaning can be adopted for kids or even for God.

    Whether you call Him by Allah or by Rahman, by whichever name you call Him, His are all the good names. (Quran 17:110)

    Thanks for the answer. The name “Ella” means beautiful, fairy maiden.
