  • Should The Quran Always Be Read In Order?

Posted by Saad on September 6, 2022 at 4:45 pm

I have already read the entire Qur’an a few times as it is but sometime I feel like going through a particular Surah but I learned from Ghamdi Sahab that how the grouping of Suwar signify an order and theme (e.g the first five major Suwar are for the Itmam-e-Hujjat of Jews/Christians). So if I read the Suwar out of order, will there be a significant issue in my understanding? Does the understanding of Qur’an demands that Suwar should be read in order?

    Thank you.

It is not necessary to read the chapters of the Quran in order, however, if you read Ghamidi sahab’s translation it will really make sense to read it in order according to the coherence in the Quran. His translation also includes group as well as chapter introductions which provide the required context in order to understand any chapter in a lot more depth.
