Quran doesn’t say collect all the species of the World. That is the interpretation of Bible. Quran states…

[11:40] When our judgment came, and the atmosphere boiled over, we said, “Carry on it a pair of each kind, together with your family, except those who are condemned. Carry with you those who have believed,” and only a few have believed with him.

One interpretation is to carry each pair of domesticated animal to start new life after the end of floods.

The inquisitive mind asks if this verse has been translated correctly, or merely given a translation to conform to the story found in the Bible. The Quran translators have not given due reverence to the word of Allah by making such erroneous translations.

The Qur’an higlights the event of Nuh (AS) sent as Rasuul to a nation.

When judgment is done after Rasuul completes Hujjat, the warned nation is then to be punished. Because it would be against justice for Allah to punish everyone on the earth just because one nation to which a Rasuul was sent. Because to punish the entire world, you would have to send a Rasuul to warn the entire world first but instead only a single nation (i.e of Nuh (AS)) was warned and therefore, by justice, only they must be punished because only they were warned.

That is why the punishment was for a nation and for that Nuh (AS) and the believers only took what they needed to start a new life in the land (i.e domestic animals) that Allah gave them after the punishment of those that were warned and did not listen.

The above explanation by brother Saad is perfect. Another thing to note in the verse is that..

…and the atmosphere boiled over, we said, “Carry on it a pair of each kind, together with your family, except…

Prophet Nuh was told after the atmosphere boiled over to collect a pair of each kind. That means the rains were about to start. That means there was no time to go around the world to collect pairs of all species.

Previous scriptures are understood in the light of Quran. since Quran is very clear that rasool is hujja for the nation to which he is sent. Hence no need for taking complete bible stories.
The comment mentioned in above video shows that people donot understand principle of Ghamidi sb approach.

Also Quran is the only authentic book remaining in its original language that is still alive today. Bible is mostly not a direct word of Allah. Bible has over 60 distinct versions that are dramatically different. Original language of Bible is not alive and there are no authentic remaining copy of Bible nor was it memorized by thousands of people generation after generations like Quran. Also, history documents deliberate changes in Bible by some kings and other powerful person.
