  • How Is Hell A Place For Purification?

Posted by Abdul Qadir on September 18, 2022 at 3:27 am

Salaam to all. In Meehan, under Belief in the Hereafter in subsection Hell, the first line is:

یہ مجرموں کے لئے سزا اور تزکیہ اور تطہیر کی جگہ ہے۔

But the whole write up after that mentions only the punishment part and nothing regarding purification. All the references of Quranic verses and even the Ahadith mention only punishment. How does this relate to purification تزکیہ اور تطہیر?

Would be grateful if guidance is provided in this regard.

    Jazakallah Khair

People who are not clearly deserving of Jannah purely through their deeds, since their deeds are all mixed up, they will be subject to Allah’s decision who will purify them either through his mercy (forgiveness) or through some form of punishment. This can also be inferred from Quran 2:174 and Quran 3:77. It is the former category for whom the concept of intercession will apply and it is the latter category who will be taken out of Hell once they complete their term of punishment.

Thank you Umer Qureshi for your prompt response. I will go through the clips. However, can you please check the reference of the 2nd verse that you have provided. Seems like a typo since Surah Nisa does not have 377 aayaas. Thank you

My apologies! It was a typing error.

The verse was from Surah Aal-e-Imran chapter 3 verse 77.

Thank you, Brother Umer. The aayahs are clear and you are correct in saying that it can be inferred from them but do not say this clearly.

Need your guidance on the Ilmo Hikmat clip that you provided. It is mentioned in it about an aayah of Quran but the aayah or it’s reference is not there. Please guide.

    Thanks & Regards,

In my understanding it is the same ayah as mentioned above in my response.
