If you have taken riba and now you realize your mistake then the best way is to return it to the individual that you took it from. If it’s not possible then you should sincerely repent and spend it in a way that might help that person or his family in some way. If that’s not possible either then you can spend that money in any charitable way, however, you should not consider it as an atonement for your mistake.
