Scholars have identified the Book of Psalms in the Bible as Zaboor because the Psalms is what People of the Book refer to as Zaboor in the time of Prophet PBUH and because Psalms/Zaboor is considered to be what was revealed to Hazrat Dawud (AS). And since both Jews and Christians follow the Bible, they are also the followers of Zaboor.

“The Psalms is the name of the book revealed to David (sws). It is a collection of hymns which are called Psalms. The Book of Psalms now found in the Bible has five books and one hundred and fifty Psalms. Although psalms attributed to other people have also found their way in this collection, but a discerning mind can feel the grandeur of a divine discourse in hymns about which it has been specified that they are from David (sws). Like the Gospel, it is the hikmah which constitutes the Psalms and the Quran corroborates it as a book revealed by God“.
