Why Does Quran Take Oath Of Things Other Than Allah When It Is A Big Sin For Us
Assalamualaikum
Hello there, My question is that there is a Hadith that is mentioned
Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed an act of idolatry.”
Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 3251
Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Al-Albani

But we see that some places in Quran where Allah is swearing by other things. How can we reconcile between the two?
I saw in an article in Islamqa where they said that Allah is the Lord so he can swear by anything He wants, but we being the creation can only swear by Allah. But this opinion raises a question in mind that Allah hates Shirk, so how can something which is shirk in itself, why would Allah associate something else with Him?
Somewhere else it was said that it is actually a style of communication that Allah did, when he swears by other things, but actually here the word Lord or Rabb is omitted as a style of communication. But the real meaning of it would be the Lord of those things by which the oath is taken.
And lastly, if this prohibition comes to us only through ahadith, then again doesnt it change the perspective that hadith does not tell us about new law or anything new into religion (addition or subtraction). Because we don’t see this thing in ijma of Ummah and tawattur as well. This question is very concerning!
