    Assalamualaikum

In the Us tour 2017 Orlando (Florida) from 1.21.16 to 1.24.0, while answering a question he said (summarized):

The prayer of Jummah (Friday) is actually a place for the Muslim state to come in front of Muslims. But in Muslim countries it isn’t organized so in that case the obligatory prayer for you is actually Duhur, but you can pray Jummah also and try to stay connected to the Muslim community even if on a collective level they have a wrong opinion. That thing of staying connected even if they are wrong, why, does Quran say that or why?

Staying connected to your community is just common sense. It’s not a religious injunction.

But “even if they are wrong”, why?

Wrong does not mean that one should cut off ties. Unless one remains a part of their community, they cannot bring about a positive change. Besides, staying connected with a community is an essential human need.

Ok, i accept that staying connected to the community is important. But it seems like one is prioritising community over an opinion which one considers to be unIslamic?

The opinion is not considered unislamic. In principle everyone agrees about the requirements for Juma. As Ghamidi sahab has stated, it is an ijtihad of other scholars to still hold juma despite the requirements not being met.
