My question is , there are some surahs in Quran when we are reading , there comes an icon or a symbol of sajdah, is it compulsory for us to do sajdah then?

Or can we just ignore that and read the surah further without any prostration?

Because I have heard that if you don’t prostrate at the sajdah verse, your imaam can go away! Is that true?

Kindly guide me upon this issue.

    JazakAllah khair!

The prophet used to respond to the verses of Quran. At the verses of mercy, he asked for mercy, at the verse of Azab, he sought refuge from it. In the same way, he used to perfrom a sajda when verses mentioning sajda came. these are not obligatory. and what you heard about it regarding Iman, is just baseless.
