Quran 7:33 – The Word اثم / Ithm And Its Application
I asked this question in the last ask ghamidi session but couldn’t make my self clear so asking again the word اثم refers to violations of rights. In order to say someone violated a certain right first we have to finalize what are the rights of a certain being obligated on me. So what are the rights of Allah on his slaves? Am I right to say that every order God gave me is an obligation upon me and it’s the God’s right that as his slave i shall live my life according to the commands he’s given. These commands could be the etiquettes he told us to follow when interacting with opposite gender or how to guard our body(حفظ فروج) or it could be salah etc… So whenever I intentionally not follow god’s commands that he’s given to me isn’t it the violation of God’s rights? Can we add all these things into اثم (i.e not completing my obligations towards god is اثم) and if we do so by following different approach we would reach at the traditional viewpoint regarding halal and haram.
