in part 110 of 23 questions series, Ghamidi sahab says that meezan cannot mean adl. But he himself says that “deen ke maamley me insaaf par qaaem ho jaaey”. That is what adl means. Why is he disagreeing with the opinion that meezan means adl ? There seems to be a contradiction in this to me.

    (Excerpt from Quran 57:25)

    ___

There seems to be no apparent contradiction. Ghamidi Sahab is commenting on the use of word ‘Meezan‘ in the above mentioned verse that this word is used here for ‘Divine Books‘ in its metaphorical sense as a scale which can be used as a yardstick for religious matters and the use of words لِیَقُوۡمَ النَّاسُ بِالۡقِسۡطِ‘ (تاکہ لوگ (حق و باطل کے معاملے میں) ٹھیک انصاف پر قائم ہو جائیں)’ testify to this point because it is telling the purpose/objective of that scale. If word Meezan is taken in the meaning of ‘adl‘ then in addition to some logical fallacies as pointed out in the video above, later the use of sentence ‘deen ke maamley me insaaf par qaaem ho jaaey’ appears incongruous with the sentence structure.

The last sentence that you wrote is what I am unable to understand. If you place “adl” instead of “scale”, won’t the following words “liyaqumman naas bil qist” mean the same thing ? how does it become incongruous ?

I am not disagreeing here. I just can’t understand the difference between “adl” and “meezan” that Ghamidi sahab is trying to point out. This is the first time I cant understand what Ghamidi sahab is trying to say. I’ve watched more than 200 hrs of his, but this part somehow is difficult to understand.
