    Assalamualaikum

Lot A.S with Abraham AS migrated and then Lot AS went to Sodom as mentioned in Genesis 13:12:

“Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.”

And then Lot AS preached among the nation and as a result of denial, they are punished. But Lot AS was not from the sodom and gomorah (places) itself, not from those people themselves but he migrated there. And isn’t it that a Rasool is from among the people itself like as it was the case for Prophet SAW?

It is not explicitly mentioned in Quran as a principle that a Rasool must be in all circumstances from people of his target Nation. But we get a hint from Quran that all Rasuls were in some way residents of the nations to which they were sent (e.g. Quran 12:109, Quran 14:4 & Quran 16:113). And we see in history that whenever a Rasool is not a direct member of his target nation, he usually becomes a part of that nation through relationship of marriage in that nation. Same was the case with Prophet Ismael, Prophet Lut, Prohet Yunus and some other Prophets as well.
