Distancing From Social Media?
Is it okay if one distance themselves from social media sites on the basis that people there are a bad influence and even say things that are disturbing to mental health?
Or is it also considered ‘running away from the test’ attitude?

Social Media does not fall in the primary category of this test. The test starts from oneself (‘nafs‘) and extends to family and close relatives and then to other portions of the society. Social Media is a mode of communication but not the only mode and hence not integral in determining validity of the test.
Secondly, the reason of some platform or someone being a bad influence is a valid reason to distance oneself from such platform or such person.
