Choosing Of Spouse – Free Will Or Fate (Taqdeer)?
Posted by Deleted User 1191 on January 5, 2023 at 9:21 pmDoes Allah Rub-ul-eizat choose a spouse for us as a part of Taqdeer or Fate, or is it the person who himself/herself chooses a spouse as per his own free will and understanding?

1. Pure free will. For example, your choice whether to commit a sin.
2. Pure fate. For example, where you are born.
3. Events that seem to be a mix of fate and free will, but are actually purely fate.
For example, selection of your spouse. The fate decides the time, location, and available selection of your spouse, and free will seems to let you choose a spouse from the available choices.
In the end, everything is fate because everything happens according to Allah’s will, and you end up selecting a spouse that Allah willed for you. But as humans going through a test in this life, you are being judged based on your thought process, your actions, and your decision when going through the process of selecting a spouse.

Member January 6, 2023 at 7:29 amBrother Shaheen. I am not a scholar, but I just study and think about these questions. If we refer to the Quran, we know the following.
1. Humans have been given free will.
2. But nothing can happen without Allah’s will.
3. Allah guides those who are righteous and seek truth and guidance.
4. Humans have been sent to this world for a test to follow Allah’s guidance; guidance, which is sent through prophets.
5. Allah knew everything about every human even before he created them.
6. Allah puts humans through various tests and trials by exposing them to various situations and circumstances.
From the above, you can infer how much control we have in the selection of our spouse.
