Nikah Without Father's Support
Need advice for the daughters whose father is not serious about their marriage.
The father has 06 daughters; only 02 are married. The remaining 04 are crossing the age limits of normal marriage life. Their ages are as follows (37 Yrs, 33 Yrs, 29 Yrs and 26 Yrs). The marriage of 02 daughters happened in 2010 and 2019. Both were accidental, which means the father didn’t search for any appropriate match, only due to the involvement of a few relatives. He does not provide any financial support for the daughters. The girls are doing jobs and trying to earn a livelihood. He also doesn’t live with them, and the girls live alone. Their mother passed away 03 years back, and afterwards, the relative also left them by giving logic that their father is alive. So we cannot support them in any aspect. Once, a daughter approached him and proposed a man for her marriage. He refused straight away without any reason and said he would see someone else. As he didn’t see any match for years, one cannot believe he will see any appropriate match.
Under such circumstances, how can the daughters manage their lives and marriages? Is there any provision in religion that they can marry without the consent of their father? How can they face society if they boycott their father and get married? Please advise and pray.
