Quran 3:28 – Relation With Non-Muslims
Surah 3:28
“Let not the believers take the disbelievers as Auliya (supporters, helpers, etc.) instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. And Allah warns you against Himself (His Punishment), and to Allah is the final return.”
We have so many non muslim with whom have a good relation with mutual understanding or faith.
Is the above surah contrary to our relation?

Read the Quran with its context. This is about the disbelievers of the time of the prophet who were fighting against him. and it was with respect to protecting the interest of the Muslims, that in the time of war, making friends with the disbelievers may harm the interest of the Muslims.
Keep in mind that was the tribal era. Every person in the tribe was supposed to support the collective decision of his or her tribe. This has nothing to do with our casual and normal relations with our non-Muslim brothers and sisters.
