Zakat For Bonus Incomes And Other Benefits
I actually have two questions.
1. Sometimes companies announce bonuses at the End of the year, i.e. Performance bonus, Profit Sharing, etc. Those are not part of the monthly salary. But,
Now, should we consider those in the 10% category for zakat?
2. There are other benefits that some employers pays for their employers. Such as, health insurance premium assistance, down-payment assistance for home buying, etc. Sometimes employees pay those charges upfront and then company reimburses it, as an added amount to the salary. Those income are taxable by the government law.
My question is are those expenses Zakat-able? If yes, by what rate?
