Consulting Astrologists
Astrologists have become very popular in today’s time. They ask for your general information like name, DOB etc and you ask them about your future and they often give accurate answers. They can even tell what a person is currently going through in life. As Muslims, is it ok to consult such people just to get hope. I’m not talking about palm readers but educated astrologers who have studied it and have years of experience.

It is still a guesswork. To consult them is of no avail practically. That what will happen will happen. Muslims are not recommended to rely upon their guesswork. It causes unnecessary anxiety or expectation. Not a healthy thing.

Field of Astrology is not an established science, but rather based on some repetition of events for which some causuality has been determined with the relative position of the stars. There’s nothing wrong with approaching this subject however, one should be cautious of not getting astray and falling into any polytheistic notion or other unethical activities. Such activities also involve baseless speculations and we Muslims have been ordered not to follow speculations as it is a major sin. Since not being an established science, these sciences have more room to deviate a person into otherwise prohibited realms. As long as one is clear on the premise, one may very cautiously approach this subject as an ongoing field of study but not as a concrete source of knowledge.
