Islam as a terminology means religion of Allah and is derived from the meaning of submission, thus referring to total and complete submission to Allah.

But when word ‘Islam‘ is used in parallel to ‘Iman‘ in Quran, then it refers to specific shade of Islam and signifies the external form of Islam, i.e. the directives which relate to the deeds and words and the physical entity of a person.
