Zakat When There Is Only Salary And No Savings Involved
I have no savings. Although I have a salary of PKR 3.5 lacs per month. Do I have to pay zakat on this salary?

2.5% Zakat is given on saving after a whole year. However, you have to pay zakat every month deducting the tax amount. Please see for details Discussion 47132.

Payment of Zakat may be delayed till year-end as per one’s own ease and/or can also be paid in installments, but Zakat must be calculated for both heads separately i.e. Production Zakat or Earnings Zakat (based on Monthly Salary in this case) as soon as production happens and Zakat on Wealth or Zakat on Assets at year-end (Based on Year-end total assets value).
