  • Atonement For Breaking Fast Because Of Hardship And Travelling

Sir I want to ask that if someone intends to keep fast on any day of Ramadan, in any of hot summer days. But in mid of the day, he becomes so thirsty that he cannot afford to keep the fast anymore and he has to travel that day too and the vehicle he is going to take is not comfortable too, so he/she breaks the fast. In that case what should be the “Kaffara” for this.

    Please elaborate.

Kaffara‘ will only be suggested in cases where a fast is intentionally broken by the person without any genuine reason for breaking it. But during fasting, if a person feels sick or feels any other unusual harship in keeping the fast for example, during travelling, then it is allowed to break that fast and make-up for only that one fast later on.
