    Is Qirat Al Ammah Famous Because Of Ottomans?

    Did hafs only become popular because the ottomans spread it and the mass printing in 1924? If not how do we know?

    Imam Hafs used to teach Qiraat e Amma. The Ottoman Empire did nothing but contribute to circulating the copies of Quran whose Qirat was already in practice. As do the present governments. Qirat e Amma has its incessant perpetual transmission in the masses before and after Hafs.
