Zakat On Mortgage Money
AoA, I need your guidance regarding Zakat. I have some cash savings in my bank account but at the same time I have a home mortgage. As the savings are for rainy days but if I put this money to my mortgage then I am not left with any savings and at the same time it will reduce my mortgage. I already have paid my zakat for this and years before but need your assistance what Islam says in this regards. Kind Regards, Khawar
