Visual Depiction Of Prophets
I recently came across an Urdu-dubbed movie on the life of Prophet Jesus (PBUH) in which he was visually depicted. Since this was dubbed in Urdu, I am assuming it was aired in Pakistan. I am not aware of any public outcry against this depiction. There are many such examples of other prophets, like Moses (PBUH) in The Ten Commandments. How come the case is different when it comes to depicting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)? Is the barring of Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) portrayal a cultural limitation or are there any Quranic or authentic Hadith banning this?
