Quran 31:34 – Only Allah Knows What Is Inside The Womb Of Mother
It is mentioned in Quran that “only GOD knows what’s in mother’s womb”
But today through different techniques we can determine sex of the baby.
But according to science we cannot determine the gender of the baby only the baby after reaching a certain age can tell us.
So can we take it in this way that only God knows ?

This verse is not talking about gender of the child inside mother’s womb, rather this verse is pointing to the fact that just because we do not know certain things in life, we do not reject their existence/reality, specially when they have a strong intellectual basis. Same is the case with the day of the judgement and in this context certain examples from our real life observation have been provided like the reality of the child inside the mother’s womb i.e. his personality, his life time, his future and his death, all of this only Allah knows. Similarly, the rain which pours down from the sky, we do not know its quantity, level of precipitation and its timing with complete certainty and yet we do not deny these realities despite not knowing their exact timings.
يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُوا رَبَّكُمْ وَاخْشَوْا يَوْمًا لَّا يَجْزِیْ وَالِدٌ عَنْ وَّلَدِهِ وَلَا مَوْلُودٌ هُوَ جَازٍ عَنْ وَّالِدِهِ شَيْئًا إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّكُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّكُم بِاللَّهِ الْغَرُوْرُ. إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِندَهُ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَيُنَزِّلُ الْغَيْثَ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِی الْأَرْحَامِ وَمَا تَدْرِیْ نَفْسٌ مَّاذَا تَكْسِبُ غَدًا وَمَا تَدْرِیْ نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ اَرْضٍ تَمُوْتُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيْمٌ خَبِيْرٌ.
People! Save yourself from your Lord’s grasp and fear the day when neither a father will be of benefit to his children nor a child will be of any benefit to the father. Indeed, God’s promise is true. So, never let the life of the world deceive you nor that deceiver should ever be able to deceive you regarding God. [They ask: “When will this promise be fulfilled?” Say:] “Only God knows that time.” [Do you not see that] it is He Who sends down rain and knows what is in the wombs. No one knows what he will earn tomorrow and no one knows the place he will die. [But can a sane person deny these things?] In reality, God alone is aware of all and has knowledge of everything. (Quran 31:33-34)
