    The Reason Behind The Revelation Of Surah At-Tahrim (ayat 1-2)

    Asselamu aleykum,

    What was the reason behind the revelation of the verses 1-2 of Surah at-Tahrim. When, our Holy Prophet (sav) prohibited something on him, to please his wives? I mean, many traditions states that, he prohibited honey on him, while, the other traditions states that the prophet (sav) prohibited his slave Hz. Maria (ra) on him. My question is, does our Holy Prophet (sav) prohibited either honey on him, or his slave Maria al-Qibtiyya (ra)?

    Kindly clarify.
