Usually mosques have a system where they take damaged copies of Quran or pages from Quran and ensure their appropriate disposal. One can opt for that option.
If that is not possible, then they may be destroyed by burning or by cutting them up so that the verses of the Quran and the name of Allah disappear, or they may be buried. There are machines that cut paper into long, thin strips (i.e. shredders), which may be used for this purpose.
