Harsh Language In Hadith Narrations
Asselamu aleykum,
There is a tradition, which Engineer Sb. (ha) pointed out, that Rasulullah (sav) and his companions (rta) used to say the sentence “May you be deprived of your mother”, through which he justified having a bold behavior. He provided the reference. But, I could not found the reference of that tradition ever again. But, When we looks at the authentic hadith books, we founds out that the sahabahs really used that sentence. Such as, when the Muslims were immigrating to Media, Hz. Umar (rta) said, “If someone wants that his mother to be deprived of him, then he should fight me, behind the hill.” (Source: Dr. Israr Ahmed [ra] ). And also, Hz. Abdullah Ibn Abbas (rta) (Source:- Sahih Muslim 705g). Doesn’t that falls under the category of having harsh and disrespectful behavior?
